چکیده

Legacy system data models can interoperate only if their syntactic and semantic differences are resolved. To address this problem, we have developed the Intelligent Mapping Toolkit (IMT), which enables mixed-initiative mapping of meta-data and instances between relational data models. IMT employs a distributed multi-agent architecture so that, unlike many other efforts, it can perform mapping tasks that involve thousands of schema elements. This architecture includes a novel federation of matching agents that leverage case-based reasoning methods. As part of our predeployment evaluation for USTRANSCOM and other DoD agencies, we evaluated IMT’s mapping performance and scalability. We show that combinations of its matching agents are more effective than any that operate independently, and that they scale to realistic problems (i.e., that involve thousands of schema elements).

Access control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware

The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...

کاربرد هستی شناسی های وب معنایی در نظام های اطلاع رسانی پزشکی

One of the challenges of current medical information systems which is based on keyword searching, is that it may retrieve a large amount of irrelevant information during searching. Also, these systems don't provide interoperability among healthcare systems. For interfacing these challenges, and for the purposes of more interoperability between user and machine, semantic web (web 3) has been d...

An Exchange Model for Reengineering Tools

Tools support is recognised as a key issue in the reengineering of large scale object-oriented systems. However, due to the heterogeneity in today’s object-oriented programming languages, it is hard to reuse reengineering tools across legacy systems. This paper proposes a language independent exchange model, so that tools may perform their tasks independent of the underlying programming languag...
